Geek out!

Last week one of my favorite people that I work with sent out an email to about a dozen of our colleagues, asking us to reply with the things that we “geek out” about. I jumped on the opportunity to do this, and sent him the following list. I learned so much about my co-workers and it was a really fun, round-about team building exercise.

Without further adieu, here is a comprehensive list of things that I delectably geek out uh-bout…

1.       Vampires. (Eric Northman, you can change me any day now…)

2.       Anything I can make with my hands. (I’ve been crafting since I have been in existence. So… forever. You can ask my mom.)

3.       Next level board games (for every 10 times Shelton and I play Ticket to Ride, he might win).

4.       Jenna Marbles/Epic Meal Time/My Drunk Kitchen (watch “Omelette You Finish” – classic).

5.       Painting my nails.

6.       Pinterest.

7.       Anything 90s (Kimmie Gibbler, Lisa Frank, Polly Pocket*, Power Rangers and everything in between).

8.       Rock ‘n roll, man. Rock ‘n roll.

9.       Movies that depict the “angst,” timelessness and drama of teenage existence (such as Mean Girls, Bring It On, She’s All That, Clueless, Varsity Blues, Rushmore, anything by John Hughes).

10.   School supplies! I own more markers than any 24-year-old should.

11.   Awesome people whose lives inspire me (Joseph Campbell, J.K. Rowling, The Pioneer Woman, just to name a few.)

12.   Organization projects (not even The Container Store could not contain my excitement for this).

13.   Alan Rickman (I don’t have a good explanation. I’m captivated whether he’s the bad guy in Die Hard or Professor Snape.)

14.   Wikipedia (knowledge, yo).

15.   Rich, beautiful characters. (Specifically? Chemistry teachers who make meth. Eleven-year-olds with lightning bolts on their head. Sex columnists who live in NYC and wear Manolos. Creative Directors who live a double life. Vigilante Blood Splatter Analysts. Eloquent imps who always pay their debts. And many more.)

16.   Batman: The Animated Series. Oh, and Chris Nolan’s Batman is pretty good, too, I guess.

17.   French Bulldogs.

18.   Disney!

19.   Theatrics in film, music, theatre or any combination of the three (Queen, Baz Luhrmann’s creations, Smash, Glee, Lady Gaga).

20.   Lists. As if you couldn’t already tell.

*My obsession with small pieces started at a very early age.

Do we geek out about any of the same things? Lemme know!

Sarah
